How To Install Vocal Presets (ALL DAWS.)

Vocal presets are one of the most fun ways to discover a new mix. In this guide I will give a quick breakdown on how to install Vocal Presets and Mastering Presets. Below I have a step-by-step guide on how to install presets on Logic Pro, FL Studio 20, Waves Studio Rack, Pro Tools, and Ableton.

Logic Pro

How to Install Presets in Logic Pro

  1. Make sure you have installed the latest version of Logic Pro.
  2. Go to spotlight in the top right of the screen, type “Channel Strip Settings”
  3. Open the “Track” folder.
  4. Drag the preset folder into the Track folder.
  5. Open Logic Pro and add an audio track.
  6. Click on ”User Channel Strip Settings” on the left side panel of Logic.
  7. You will see the preset pack listed there. (If you can’t see it, restart your computer)

  1. Make sure you have installed the latest version of Logic Pro.

  2. Go to spotlight in the top right of the screen, type “Audio Music Apps”

Click HERE if you can’t find the “Audio Music Apps” folder.

  1. Open the Audio Music Apps folder.

  2. Drag the preset pack folder into the ”Audio” folder under ”Patches.”

  3. Open Logic Pro and add an audio track.

  4. Click on” User Library” on the left side panel of Logic.

  5. Click “User Patches” and you will see the preset pack. (If you can’t see it, restart your computer)

Mastering Presets in Logic Pro - Install Guide

  1. Go to spotlight in the top right of the screen, type “Channel Strip Settings”

  2. Drag the ”Master Chains” folder into the ”Output” folder under ”Channel Strip Settings.”

How to Install Logic Pro Templates:

  1. Double click on the template project file to open up the project.

  2. Once the template has been opened, go the the top left corner and select file>Save as New Template.

  3. You have now saved that template which you can open up fresh anytime you want to start a new project.

FL Studio 20

How to Install Presets in FL Studio 20

How to Install Presets: FL Studio

  1. Make sure you have installed the latest version of FL Studio.
  2. Locate the “MixerPresets” folder. (Type “mixer presets” in your search bar. if on Mac search in spotlight search bar)
  3. Copy and paste the preset folder inside of the Mixer Presets folder.
  4. Open up FL Studio. You can drag and drop a preset of your choice to the vocal channel on your project by locating the preset on the side bar in the Mixer Presets menu. Alternatively, you can also drag the preset directly from the vocal preset folder or mixer folder and drop it
  5. AUTO TUNE/ PITCH CORRECTION Needs to be changed manually depending on the key of your beat. Visit “audiokeychain.com” and put your beat into that website. It will give you the key of the track.

Template Install Method:

  1. Double click on the project file for the template that you have downloaded. This will uncompress the file.
  2. On your computers search bar, find your main FL studio Folder called FL Studio.
  3. After finding that folder, simply drag and drop the your new template in the template folder.
  4. You can now open that template once you start up FL studio!

Waves Studio Rack

How To Install Vocal Presets in Waves Studio Rack

  1. Make sure you have installed the latest version of Waves Plugins & Studiorack. 
  2. Open your Studio Rack and hit load in the right side of the plugins and click on Load preset and then you’ll locate the preset.
  3. Once you have the preset open in studio rack You can open any of the plugins and change the settings to your taste.
  4. If your vocals don't sound loud enough turn up the gain until you reach a suitable volume.

Pro Tools 

How to Install Presets in Pro Tools

Installing Pro Tools Template:

  1. Search for your Pro Tools folder in your computer search bar

  2. Locate the session templates folder and open it

  3. Locate the Record+Mix folder and drop the template inside this folder

  4. Be sure to quit Pro Tools before opening the template. Computer restart may also be necessary if they are not appearing.

To open Pro Tools Template:

  1. Open Pro Tools

  2. From the template group folder, select Record+Mix

  3. Select Template of choice and click create

  4. Your template is now ready to go!

How to Install Pro Tools Presets:

  1. Open Pro Tools on your computer

  2. Open Finder and search for ‘Track Presets’ (if on windows, you are looking for this folder as well)

  3. Open the folder titled ‘Avid’

  4. Drag and drop presets from your downloads into this folder (Avid)

  5. Create a new mono track, right-click on the name of the track

  6. Go to recall presets> Avid> then you will see your new presets

  7. If you do not see them there, just quit Pro Tools and open it back up. It may also be necessary to restart your computer if you do not see them.

How to Install Presets : Ableton (make sure daw is up to date)

  1. Simply drag preset folder to “Places” side bar and you will have access to your presets in one click.

  2. Double click preset to use it or drag to track of your choice

  3. For auto tune, simply insert your auto tune of choice before the preset effect rack and you will be all set. Be sure to find key of track and set your auto tune accordingly (audiokeychain.com) for finding the key of an mp3.

Ableton Templates:

  1. Double click on the project file for the template that you have downloaded. This will uncompress the file.
  2. Simply open the project by double clicking the file.
  3. once the template has been opened, to save it as a new template, select save as new template. You can also set it as your default template for whenever you load up Ableton.
  4. Your Template is now ready to rock! Drag in your beat and hit record!
